Phasing out the Chief information officer may be difficult, based on the expertise that he/she has in the field of healthcare information technology. The position of the chief executive officer should be given on merit and experience. For the Chief Information Officer to receive salary increases he/she must demonstrate that he had advanced the healthcare information technology of an organization. Response B. The Healthcare information technology committee work is to chair information system strategies. Eliminating system that do not meet criteria is done by the Chief Information Officer but must have been disqualified by the consultant. Request of proposal and product demonstration is done by the steering committee. If the product does not meet the required standard it is disqualified.
