The nuclear atomic bomb dropped was first tested in Mexico on 16th July 1945 (Reiss, 42). The bombing has been debated on since then, with some of supporting while others cursing the bombing. This essay develops an argument as to whether the US president, Truman was right to authorize the bombing (Walker, 91). The essay would provide detailed examples, illustrating why the bombing was unnecessary or necessary. The bomb was the first atomic bomb in history (Reiss, 39). Therefore, the destructive bombing was a selfish move by the US and should not have been experienced (Werrell, 12). It was due to the US’s willing of retaining the superpower (Werrell, 12). In addition, some scholars argue that Japan was in the line of surrendering before the bomb could be dropped.
