Drug Enforcement Administration: A Review of Tseng’s Case Name Institutional affiliations Introduction The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is the organization which is mandated to monitor and enforce the Controlled Substances Act within the United States. The organization plays a crucial part of the US Department of Justice along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the delivery of justice to the American people. The DEA was established in 1973 through President Nixon’s executive order in a bid to combat the growing drug abuse menace within the country (US DEA n.d.). Since then the agency has grown to include a budget of several billion and recruited thousands of special agents to serve the country in different capacities. The organization also works in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies in the country to achieve its cause and ensure that illegal drug trafficking comes to a stop indefinitely. Tseng’s case gets the reduction of illegal drug trafficking. As such the paper has demonstrated a keen understanding of the DEA and its influence in the application of the Controlled Substances Act within the country. References Gerber M. (2016 February 05).
