Air Pollution Student’s Name: Institutional Affiliation: Course: Date: Air Pollution Air pollution results from the introduction of harmful substances like particles and biological molecules to the atmosphere of the earth. Air pollution is one of the major environmental problem experienced not only in the local and national level but also globally. This is owing to its adverse effects like diseases allergies and worst death of human’s. Besides it is also caused harm to living organisms like animals and food crops and to the entire natural and built environment as whole. The pollutant can be in form of solid particles liquid droplets or gases. The pollutants can be classified as either primary or secondary. The primary pollutants include the ones produced in form of processes like volcanic eruptions (Johnson et al. 2011). Others include carbon monoxide gas from motor vehicle exhaust and Sulphur dioxide from factories. The secondary pollutants on fossil fuels and using ground source heat pumps and thermal energy storage as alternatives. The motor vehicle that use fossil fuel should also be replaced with electric vehicles. Besides control devices should also be enacted in place. Particulate controls like mechanical collectors electrostatic participators to remove dust and smoke from airstream bughouses to handle dust loads and particulate scrubbers as a form of pollution control strategy.
