From 1996 to 2012, about thirty-one percent of the mass shootings by shooters happened in the USA compared to other wealthy countries. Poor urban area are mostly associated with gang violence which involve male youths and this results to death of a lot of people in America. Americans are likely to die of gun homicide than any other country, and this is twenty-five times more. No any other developed nation with highly rated gun violence compared to the USA. Many of the people dying of annual guns deaths in the USA are suicides and a small fraction of mass shootings. Moore shows the comparison of the US attitude toward guns and violence with the same approach in some parts of Canada where owning a gun is of the same caliber as to the United States of America.

He further visits neighborhoods in Canada near the border to Canada near and USA. He finds out that they do not lock their doors and they are less concerned about crime and security. Americans have a mentality that when in possession of a gun, one is safe. It has developed due to media adverts and other commercials that contain fear-based messages. Also, Canadians do not mind locking their doors, and this is due to the assurance of security by the government. This medium brings out the vast difference between USA and Canada regarding gun deaths and security (Webster et al. Recently, a school shooting in the USA that left 17 high school students in parklands and Florida dead and 15 severely wounded. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 18 cases of the school shooting in the United States according to the gun control activist group, every town for gun safety.

Any instance of a school shooting has not been recorded in Canada. According to researchers from the North-Eastern and Harvard University, there are approximately two hundred and sixty-five million guns owned privately by the Americans. Moore argues that the media is causing America fears and the need to protect them self. in the cartoon “A Brief History of the United States of America” where a view of how fear began in America and how it is affecting them over the years. Any sensible discussion about the gun violence problem in America first must acknowledge that guns are not going away and it’s almost impossible to do away with them. For instance a student who survived a gunshot Emma Gonzales was speaking at a rally said a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun from misusing a riffle though the government says strict laws do not decrease gun violence (Lopez, 2009).
