So far, the project had cost £9. 8bn and the costs were predicted to increase further (Syal, 2013). The report filed by the parliament’s public spending watchdog outlined major challenges which caused the project failure. The project management principles which were not followed include the following; 1. The project failed to realize the major objective of producing a system which will keep health records in all hospitals. A meeting will be called. In the meeting, the problem will be identified or issues which make the project go off course. In this case, the major problems will constitute a failure of the team members to draw the project and manage it effectively, changes in the major specifications of the project, disagreement with the suppliers, failure to meet the deadline, poor communication and exceeding the budgeted cost of the project among others.

Information will be shared on how to keep the project on track and address the areas of concern. For instance, if it is the issue of poor communication, an examination will be carried out on how communication was carried out and major improvements will be suggested on the major ways of enhancing good communication between the project team members and to the various stakeholders. When rearranging, the clients and the project team are notified of the changes. If there is any complexity during project implementation, consultations can be made, the project team can work overtime, resources can be swapped and some skills and expertise can be outsourced. As a manager, I will manage the project progress and ensure a smooth implementation of quality assurance procedures (Heldman, 2010).
