Even though there are countries that have legalized abortion, the debate is still in progress to discuss whether abortions are ethical and legitimate. It has also been a contentious political topic as policies revolving around abortion are mostly parts of campaigns during elections. The outcome of some abortion laws is seen all over the world. In countries such as in Ireland, the negotiations on legalizing abortion have recently been initiated while in the United States, the right of women to abortion is protected by Roe v Wade. Most disagreements on whether women should be allowed to abort stems from various diverse beliefs regarding the rights of the unborn. This makes them unable to concentrate on family issues. Others may be busy with their lives and thus taking care of the baby might be a difficult task for them.

This kind of women should be allowed to abort. Abortion should available mostly for the women who are at medical risk and victims of rape Kost , Isaac, and Alex, 53). This is because a raped woman who is forced to give birth will relive the action in every day of her life. After the process of abortion has been performed, women usually feel guilty of the action, and this mostly leads to chronic depression. The depression, in turn, affects the nervous system which may hamper the subsequent pregnancies of the woman. There is an anti-abortion argument that abortions are unethical. One of the main reason as to why it is considered unethical is that abortion is against the right of the unborn (Kost, and Stanley, 67).
