Security Security is important to all citizens and it is the right of all citizens being served by the criminal justice profession to be offered security. This means that the defense authorities should assess and eliminate any harm that may affect the citizens being served. The criminal justice profession may be serving convicts, suspects, or witnesses who may be at risk of being harmed because of working with the criminal justice profession. These people must be protected either when in courtrooms, jail, safe houses, or in public places (Lynch). Justice The criminal justice profession is responsible for meeting the justice needs of all citizens in a country. Cultural differences create misunderstandings between criminal justice profession professionals and the people they serve.

For instance, language barriers, cultural ways of communication and handling different genders can create misunderstandings. The Needs of a Multicultural and Diverse Population To address the need of a diverse population with many cultures the criminal justice profession professionals must be acquainted with and aware of the different norms, beliefs, values, and cultures. The professionals must be responsive and sensitive to the traditions of the people they serve for them to maintain good relationships with them. Without understanding what other people believe it will be hard to deal with them since one can mention or do something unacceptable by the other culture hence creating a misunderstanding which dissatisfies the people being served (Terrill). Society’s Perception The society perceives the criminal justice profession as pocketed by the rich and stationed to oppress the poor.

Most rich people even in developed countries tend to get away with everything illegal they do because they cannot be questioned by this profession. The profession is corrupt that only the rich can be favored because they have something to offer on behalf of the favor. The rich and the powerful are the owners of this profession because it is very rare to see a police officer arresting a rich man and it is very common to see rich people giving them bribes. Removing the Negative Stereotypes The best method of removing the negative stereotypes is by ensuring the unwanted characters will never occur again in the profession. " Fordham L. Rev.
