These steps include gender stereotypes gender identity and development of gender roles. According to socialization by the age of 3 children start to form their gender identity (Siegel & Welsh 127). They rely on certain activities behavior and interests differently; these common factors make children identify themselves as a boy or a girl. Cognitive factors like gender stability and gender constancy help in creating this gender differences. The personality traits a child grow with which are genetically based also help a child as they grow to have a gender identity which creates gender difference. According to Siegel & Welsh (348) the juvenile justice system is a process that helps in creating gender justice in courts. According to this system girls and boys are not supposed to be charged equally. that abuse drugs are more likely to engage themselves in crime in search for money for drugs. Lack of strong moral guidance from family and society is also another factor that influences teen crime (Siegel & Welsh 10). Correlation of gender social class and age impact delinquency in different ways (Siegel & Welsh 383). This is because these three variables are interrelated. Gender impact delinquency in that girls become delinquently more than boys due to the biological factors. Apart from that the way families up bring their children for instance families that provide their children and support them fully makes their kids acquire good behavioral conduct.
