The essence of stakeholder engagement is that it supports the objectives of procurement management by enabling the procurement team to understand the strategic issues faced by the stakeholders. The process can thus be customized to ensure stakeholders’ expectations are met, value addition to the service delivery that the patients expect, resolve compliance requirements, and offer value addition to the project in the perception of the public (Gatti, 2013).
