This analysis evaluates the poet’s use of nature imagery to paint a pastoral image in the mind of the reader while showing emphasis on the natural beauty of the woman he loves. The title of the poem is straightforward and it shows that the poem deals with a shepherd who is to express love to his beloved. The title is important because it makes the reader identify that the speaker of love. The speaker a shepherd gives promises using nature imagery to his lover with an attempt of luring her to move with him to the countryside and enjoy a luxurious life that nature will provide.
