In some instance this lead to intolerable attitudes, some resolved and others remain unresolved. The unresolved resulted to religious war, this lead to the formulation of the universal freedom of religion so as to save loss of lives. According to (Littlefield, 2016 p 25,) freedom of religion is basically viewed as a basic human right. It is defined as the principle that a community or individual can practice their religion without intervention either in public or private. This as well includes changing from one religion to another. This is usually done in favor of Christianity a practice that is rarely questioned. From Pew Research Centers, France is listed to have high level of government restriction on religion. This is evident as the government banned the covering of face while in public places; this affects Muslims who believes in the wearing of hijab.

Other incidences the government has been accused of religious harassment, for instance a mayor read out a list of names of Muslim school children within his town ‘Beliefs and identity in France’. Islamic in Saudi Arabia According to (Madawi A, 2014 p 34) Saudi Arabia had Islamic as their state religion, with that a majority of the population here are Muslims. In France the government controls all religious practices, while Saudi government uses Holy Quran to set rules that govern the country. France system of education is mostly Christian dominated and there have been some incidence of discrimination among Muslims. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia is hostile to other religions, this led to deportation, detention and prosecution of people who did not practice Islam or practiced other religion either in Public or in private.
