Set Theory Introduction Set theory is used to define the relationship between elements that comprise two different sets. A set is taken as a collection of elements (numbers colors people and so many more). To best understand the basic definition of a set one best imagines a group of random natural numbers put together in a group. Thus 1 3 5 7 and 9 comprise a set of the smallest five odd numbers. When two such groups are considered the relationship between all the elements used is governed by set theory. Games often involve set theory in their basic operation; the way they are played not only relies on set the area of intersection shaded different may be used to represent this rule. Set Notation Set notations are used to summarize the basic criterion that determines the winner in any round of SET.
