The technology has played a huge role in enhancing cheating in schools. Administrators are in a scramble to prevent this behavior since it has more effect to the students and to their academic life. As much as technology can enhance cheating, the parents and the guardians also make the students cheat in school. They always expect the students to perform better and to improve from the last exams. Therefore, if the students are not well prepared for the exams, and they want to have good grades, cheating would be their only option. Many students decide to skip classes thinking and believing that they would do better on their own and that they are able to read and understand the books. The third reason as to why a student may decide to cheat in school is that they may not be doing enough preparations for their exams (Alain and Maréchal 88).

Studying is important because it helps in understanding a concept better and thus being able to answer questions without any difficulties (Alain and Maréchal 87). Poor concentration in class is also a cause of cheating. Poor concentration may be as a result of day dreaming in class, lack of interest in a certain course or subject, and multi-tasking during classes or concentrating on events outside the classrooms. This may be an inconvenience in the academic life of the student as they may not have a smooth life in school as they had anticipated initially during the admission. This may also kill students interest since there are consequences they may have to face as a result thus affecting their general academic life.

Understanding the effects of cheating in school to students would be helpful as it would make the involved parties realize that stopping this habit is necessary. Several measures may be applied to reduce instances of cheating in school. Among them is to encourage the student to study harder and to prepare enough for the exams. The schools should institute punishments by both the instructors and the university council. This would scare the students and they would have to think of the punishments they would have to face when caught cheating. Lastly, students should be motivated on the subjects and the courses. The schools should have motivational speakers speak to the students on various subjects as well as their advantages. By doing this the students would be motivated to study and to prepare for the exams thus no need to cheat.
