It has been a norm in the past years that the involvement of the parents in their children education has been obligated to mothers for a long time, the reason to this being that most fathers give excuses that they have busy work schedules of they some sort of work pressure. Parental involvement in this case has been deeply associated with the mothers. However, this research too an extensive investigation on the father’s involvement in their children education in the early years, the investigation was conducted through the review and analysis of the literature review and interview carried out from the 15 fathers who have their children in the nursery school. From investigation, the following findings were revealed 1. I planned a field trip for one class, and the guardians were all in participation and were included altogether in the experience. Without any genuine direct involvement in the classroom, I am not so far ready to think about altogether this inquiry. There has been different arguments from scholars on the role of the father in a child education, some research concluded that the presence of a father in child education is what determines the child growth and development while others have come to the conclusion that it is the presence of both parents that gives the child a solid background to a successful life and a better education (Flouri et al 56). Due to the busy schedules of parents in the current child care development, the child development is indeed a vital role which is indeed so much important because when children are growing up the environment in which they grow is the most important factor which will as well develop their brain growth and the involvement of the father in this process must give it a boost and confidence which is a well dictated by their actions.

The most important investment parents can give to their children at such tender age is a good education which is usually passed from the parent to the child and it is the obligation of the parent to make sure that the child gets the best education. This has not been the case in the past decades because the child require both the psychological and mental guidance of the father for a health growth, since the father is the sole provider of most families in times when the mother is nursing the child he is responsible to give the child good mental perspective of what to expect. However, the assumption has some basis considering the contributions as well persistent the mother had on the child in taking care of his basic needs, behind the success of the mother the father is also present in trying to give the limelight not only to the child but to the entire family.

Mothers are more likely to involve in their children affairs when they are at home while the fathers usually take the obligation of the child while they are in school; it is this contribution that some studies argue that it gives the father a chance as the determinant of the child success (Yeung et al 136). The big question here is that are fathers more responsible or what contribution did father give to their children education especially during their tender age? The contribution of one of the founding fathers of sociology on child care and child development come up with guidelines on how to ensure that the child education is an equal measure to both parties( Haralombos and harborn 23). They introduced some of the considered “basic and irreducible functions” which are there in a family setting; the two psychologists outlined the role of the family as a unit in the development of the child holding all other factors constant.

Appreciating the role of the parents in the development of the children is one factor that should really be taken into consideration because this is the same people who will be the future cream of the society (Hoover-Dempsey et al 40). If their needs are not addressed on time the consequences might not be friendly to the parents because that could dictate how their behavior would be like in the future which is what every community is trying its best to make sure that the behavior of their children is appreciated by everyone in the society. The main role of the father is not only fathering the child but instead he is obligated to ensure that the child could not only get basic education but to also provide all the basic necessities that are required for the growth and development of the child.

If the mother for instance is left alone to take care of the children by giving them both the basic needs and education, the child might not be able to appreciate as well as to understand what the society had to offer (Cools et al 805). some societies believe that it is the role of the father to guide and advice the boy child on matters education while others have gone to an extend of giving the mother the responsibilities of the girl child. Consequently, all together in pick up a more profound comprehension of the current point, this paper will seek after responses to the following research questions: • What are the factors influencing fathers’ participation in their children’s schooling? • Do these factors help or hinder the relationship between the levels of fathers’ involvement? • What strategies can be used to maintain or improve fathers’ participation in their children’s school? LITERATURE REVIEW This chapter basically deals on the literature reviews of the father’s involvement in their children education at an early year’s level.

However, in order to evaluate and critically examine this study, it will deeply consider the literature reviews on the topics that investigate the involvement of fathers in the children education at their early ages. Research reports on the topic will be considered by the study, these studies will as well give the blue print in answering the research question, the impact that this involvement will have on the education of the children while they are growing up and the possible considerations (Flouri et al 56). Collecting data in view of fathers inclusion in their kids’ education at the early years both in the U. K and abroad, manage the components that support and stop their contribution, lastly find some key methodologies which are as of now received or could be utilized by instructive establishments to help enhance father's cooperation are issues which will be examined all through this section.

This kind of association accept that schools keep guardians educated about school matters by sending pamphlets or report cards, calling, messaging or going to guardians, and so forth. What's more, guardians can likewise deliver their worries to the instructor or school organization both through reaching them straightforwardly and through correspondence. Father Volunteering As per Flouri (57) the expression "volunteer" for the most part alludes to people who give their extra time to deal with a standard premise without financial pay, typically under the heading of a school worker, in help of instructive exercises and school activities. He elucidates, be that as it may, that parental commitment in PTA, PTO or different sorts of basic leadership associations including guardians, educators and, maybe understudies and other network individuals, isn't volunteering.

This sort of inclusion recommends that guardians are engaged with educational modules related exercises happening at home (e. Customarily, schools send understudies' report cards, school bulletins or network refreshes, or sort out occasions for the whole family or only for the guardians (Finders and lewis 56). Every procedure for encouraging parental inclusion can give particular advantages, I yet every methodology additionally has boundaries for its usage. For instance, schools would i be able to find that guardians in their networks ignore all correspondence they get from [schools and that guardians might be out of their homes amid the daytime, the most helpful time for educators to call guardians. Numerous customary systems for advancing parental inclusion depend vigorously on guardians' I capacity to visit their youngster's school.

Most workshops and different occasions are held in the school, and if guardians can't go to the sessions at the specific time and date, there are little guardians and schools can do. Inclusion with perusing exercises at home has huge positive impacts not just on perusing accomplishment, dialect cognizance and expressive dialect aptitudes (Sarkadi et al 153) yet in addition on students enthusiasm for perusing, mentalities towards perusing and mindfulness in the classroom(Cool,801). Parental contribution in their kid's education rehearses is an all the more ground-breaking This disregard of dads' significance in the association of their children ' lives – and for the most part being recognized for their financial and disciplinary commitments has even achieved schools neglecting to endeavor to incorporate dads in their projects and approaches.

In any case, undisputedly, fathers must be genuinely and effectively associated with the multilateral procedure of childrearing, to completely achieve the advancement of qualities, interests and the personality of their youngsters. Numerous specialists (Haralambos and holborn 67) as well, are upholding for all the more paternal association in all parts of youngsters' lives. They trust that the general public, schools and families remain to profit hugely from supporting men in their parts as fathers. Being a result of the Afro-Caribbean foundation, I feel it just appropriate to begin off by looking at the parts fathers play on their children education at an early year’s level from this point of view. Caribbean ladies have been the overwhelming figure as parental figures and monetary suppliers from the pioneer time frame to display.

This is on the grounds that Caribbean men in many examples neglect to assume liability for their family or inclusion in with their youngsters (Sarkadi et al 153). Sarkadi battles this gathering of men act in one of two different ways: it is possible that they add to their kids' upkeep and esteem this as their sole duty; or in situations where they are co-inhabitants in a family unit, they give next to zero monetary help for the family. Subsequently, expanding the as of now overburdened ladies, abandoning them to hold up under the greater part of the child rearing. By and by, similar to moms, fathers have different parts: supplier, defender, nurturer, slave driver, educator, friend and instiller of societal standards, to give some examples Lamb (24).

As indicated by Lamb (24), it was amid the nineteenth century at the season of mechanical upheaval where we saw the parts of moms outperform that of dad. Presently, notwithstanding, these parts have been re-imagined, in that the two dads and moms share the obligations of their tyke/youngsters, and are subsequently anticipated that would be co-guardians. Factors which are associated with father’s involvement in early year’s development of their children Many factors have contributed to the involvement of the fathers to the early years education development of their children, the father of the child is the parent who is also responsible for the welfare of the child and he is obligated to providing the best education for them. Although the mother is as well a responsible parent of the child the father is considered as the head of the family and the society appreciates the contribution of the father in mentoring the child especially when the child is in their early years of schooling, this is where the contribution of the father is really required.

The same can't be said for the lower class fathers whose employments might be all the more requesting and less adaptable. Cool (801) Draws on 'social', 'human' and 'physical' (or monetary) capital as a system of clarifying dads' association is because of the assets accessible to any given family. As it were, one's capital capacity decides the level of contribution a dad has in his youngster's life. 'Social capital' as Lee goes ahead to clarify, includes the nature of the connections inside the family – the way that guardians interface with their kids and each other, the instructive desires (as talked about above) guardians have for their youngsters, the home condition (rules, schedule, arrange), and even the time that relatives need to give to each other.

'Human capital' incorporates parental instructive levels and the aptitudes and capacities that guardians, and additionally essential organizations, for example, schools have. President Clinton requested that every official division incorporate dads in their projects, approaches and research, where conceivable. One of the more conspicuous reports around there is an investigation did by the National Center for Education Statistics in the United States. Their October 2017 Survey, Fathers' Involvement in Their Children's Schools, discovered that youngsters improve the situation in school when their dads are associated with their schools, paying little respect to whether their dads live with them or their moms are additionally included. The national investigation sufficiently accumulated regard for have U. S. Different purposes behind dads' absence of inclusion could be that, fathers might be of the outlook that tutoring ought to be left to the instruction specialists, and the family part is one of minding and sustaining outside of school.

Or on the other hand educators may fear feedback from guardians, and thus, limit correspondence between the home and the school. Be that as it may, whatever the reason or reason, it ought to be noticed that dads can make important commitments to their kids' training, and in this way they should keep up and support a distinct fascination in their kids' instruction. Strategies that will help fathers getting involved in their children education at their early years of school It has come to my attention based on the data I have collected so far that fathers contribute less to the education of the children at their early level of education; the mothers are left to take care of the children welfare while at their early years of school.

Also from the data situations sometimes hinder fathers from being at home and giving their kids moral support, there is also a need to formulate strategies which will enable to fathers to be responsible in dealing with their sons and daughters at the early years of going to school. Fathers ought not to give up their obligations and responsibilities at this stage, however rather ought to end up more engaged with. Teachers and executives must will to meet guardians amid whenever of the weekday and end of the week. Cautious thought must will to be given to guardians' work routines when arranging guardian’s educator’s conferencing. Writings relating to the advantages of dads helping with their kids' training ought to be circulated by instructors through mailings to the home or as a feature of school-network bulletins.

This would in all likelihood prompt more dads getting to be included. The utilization of organized meetings, received for this situation, would not just unfurl a conversational style of research between the questioner and the interviewee, permitting members the opportunity to completely investigate significant issues (Finders,10), yet more imperatively empower the specialist to gather information through immediate and supported contact with fathers, along these lines, bearing the analyst the chance to comprehend practices, through the words and activities of dads themselves. At last, helping the specialist in the capacity to investigate points of view and shared implications, create bits of knowledge and circumstances, and unfurl the obstructions to fathers' contribution in school exercises. Choosing fathers as a component of this contextual analysis which bolsters top to bottom subjective information of an interpretive nature was accordingly observed as the most fitting for the research design.

Becker, as citied in Haralambos and Holborn (p. 833) depicts one point of a contextual analysis as endeavoring "to touch base at a far reaching comprehension of the gathering under examination". Fathers' conviction on their part in their nursery school education. A composite score of fathers' conviction on their part in their children education, instruction was processed in light of correspondence, giving, checking, shared exercises and educating. Inquiries were isolated into three segments (Appendix 1) – section one concentrating on the foundation data of fathers , section two tending to fathers' inclusion and support for their children's education at the early years and section three focusing vigorously on the hindrances to fathers' association - comprising of both shut and open-inquiries, with the last being more command. Moreover, as a way to comprehend the information gathered from this research and decide the connection between fathers ' contribution in their children's training and their kid or children's scholastic accomplishments. It was Cool(801) who called attention to, interviews are intended to evoke perspectives and viewpoints, be it in a formal, casual, or intuitive way, at last allowing the interviewee to make their own view focuses heard and inevitably read.

Validity and the reliability of data Validity of the study is one critical point of interest and its part of the methodology which measures the extend of the validity and reliability of the study, this measures if the data found in my study is indeed from the real fathers of the children and not any other data which is not supposed to be part of the study. With regards to deciding if the study was substantial and dependable the questions I would need to ask are: is this study ready to precisely compare to this present reality? Is it true that i was ready to discover answers to my research question(s)? The principle one being, are fathers associated with their children's education at early years? What are the purposes behind a few fathers not being included? Would similar outcomes be accomplished if this research was finished by an alternate researcher, in an alternate area or crosswise over time? What can be contended to gauge the legitimacy and unwavering quality of this research subject was right off the bat, and basically the outcomes can be said to be valid for general fathers, not only those piece of the study.

All members assented, marking their name at three unique interims (as appeared in Appendix 2, 3 and 4), showing that they had perused, comprehended and were ready to partake. It ought to be noted at neither one of these phases of giving assent was ID of the fathers required. Distinguishing proof checks, for example, names and addresses were covered up. The members' entitlement to protection was likewise an issue I as the researcher needed to guarantee was dealt with. Toward the start of each session for directing the meetings, the researcher disclosed completely to members that privacy and namelessness were ensured. On one event, one dad was proposed and wound up included. Lastly, one family companion (a dad, vigorously engaged with his child's football action) actually reached three of his child's partners' fathers, and significantly affected them to participate, all of which concurred, and similarly as previously, dates, times and a set area was examined and organized the organized meetings.

All things considered, I wound up with a sum of twelve fathers. Six fathers consented to be met at my place of habitation, four chose their homes would be the most helpful for the meeting and two fathers picked a coffeehouse amid their meal breaks - the meetings failing to last the greater part 60 minutes. At each meeting, the researcher reminded the respondents that the data assembled would be treated with strict privacy and in the event that they were intrigued, they were see to the discoveries of the research. Keeping in mind the objective of the study, I needed to assess every factor (age, monthly salary, and so on. ) and to consider the impact it could conceivably have on fathers' involvement on their children's education in nursery schools.

What was noted after clear analysis was that a big number of the respondents were married and beyond forty five years old. The number of children as of now in nursery schools was a key variable, this was helpful in determining if the number of children a father had in nursery school would indeed affect the behavior or the involvement of the father to the child while at home or even in some educational functions which are arranged by the school. in relation to this factor, the abrogating number of children going to nursery school was 2, with nine fathers showing they had two children currently going to nursery while the other six fathers having only a single child in nursery school.

The response of the fathers give a clear evidence on their involvement and how they expect to interact with their children while they are still at their lower level of education. When they are asked if they have ever attended any activity which was organized by the school such as school meetings, plays or gathering. Out of the fifteen fathers who gave their responses ten of them responded that they usually attended school functions without failing wherever they are requested to by the administration, some of those who responded that they normally go to this school gave some description of how frequently they normally go such school functions. Some of this response includes. Parent 3 response “ my son have been in nursery school for six months now and I have been to the school for not less than ten times, I have once accompanied my on a fathers-child games which was created by the school to give some time for the young children.

I also wanted to know if the fathers think that it is indeed important to get involved in their children school education, this was aimed at investigating if the fathers would like to get involved I their children school. The response was perfect since all the father responded through a ‘YES’ while ten of them responded by extending their discussion to give the reason why it is important for them to get engaged. These fathers agreed that the contribution they give to their children while growing up to adopt the school life is not only sending them to school but to as well follow up with their welfare at school. Some fathers even went ahead to give their experiences with their fathers while they were growing up in relation to how their children should grow.

Some of the responses for the reason as to why they think that fathers should be engaged in their children education include. From the analysis which was carried out in the previous chapter, the findings that I intended to discuss were further revealed throughout this chapter. The following are the factors which clearly come out of the analysis of the previous chapters: 1. It is indeed clear from the responses in the previous chapter on data analysis that fathers really need to get involved in their children education especially while they are still in the early years of school. This is actually where the contribution of the father is paramount and the interviewed fathers showed that they can indeed wish to get involved.

The fathers have even shown a relationship they initially had with their fathers which some of them gave a testimony of how it looked like and how their fathers then contributed to their studies, they wanted the same to be emulated by their children and that is why some of them even said that they wanted their children to follow their footsteps. According to what was obtained in the interviews, fathers are not just going to the required gatherings set up for parents, however they are partaking in the additional curricular exercises, for example, school plays and wears days to not just help construct the bond with the kid and their guardians (specifically fathers) yet in addition connect that gap amongst home and school.

Never again ought to there be this requirement for freedom or separate presence of home and school life. Besides, fathers' purposes behind having that level of association shifted (Hill et al 45). Contrary to the past , having such a closeness, in their view, goes about as a persuading factor for that child– a guide in some sense. In any case, for the majority of the dads keeping up an association with the school and the educators was fundamental. over the past decades fathers have started to realize that indeed the role of fathers include the moral support of the children while they are in school and especially during their early years in nursery school, the fathers have also shown their concern whereby they can now get involved in their children welfare as well as making sure that the welfare of the children is well taken care of by both the mother and the father.

The fathers have now come to a realization that in order to create a bond with their children they must get involved in their academic activities especially when they are still of the under age. This bond is what creates a lasting solution to both the involvement of the parent to the success of the child, from the data collected in the previous chapters it is clear that the role of the fathers have changed because the opinion of some fathers who were engaged in the interview clearly show that fathers are willing to take care and get engaged to their children welfare to an extend that they are not only getting to support them is class activities but to create a bid for them to have a clear platform to form a lasting solution to their bonds with the kids.

Children appreciate their father’s involvement in their early education because they can get motivated and desire to exceed in their education to a higher level, according to lee (93) fathers possess the social capital which they must release to their children in order to create a really strong bond. This social bond is what makes these fathers want to experiment the bond with their young ones while at school, the quality of the father child relationship is usually determined with the closeness the father had with the child. For some fathers maintaining a relationship with the child’s teachers, wanting to find out about their child’s progress at school as a means of assisting at home where necessary, wanting to know how their child was progressing academically indicated a level of them wanting to know what they can do to further better that child, whether it be by checking over school assignments, assisting with projects, quizzing them on spelling tests or educating them on certain subjects that father might have in-depth knowledge on, showcases the way in which fathers are getting involved.

This will not only make them more involved on their children school life at the years but it will enable them be more responsible to their children education. In terms of the factors that influence the fathers involvement on their children education at the early years, as per the fathers involved in the interview, they said that the main factor which influence their involvement on their children education were the work constrains which all the fathers interviewed said that they spend a lot of time in concentrating with the work hence neglecting the noble role of involving in their children education. Work constrains was then considered as the main cause of lack of fathers involvement in their children education at early years because at this stage parents are very busy with the office work and other work related activities hence lack some time to have with their children.

Majority of fathers who were interviewed are working full time hence the inconvenienced caused by the school activities is what really contributed to the conflict of fathers on the involvement of their children education especially on their tender ages of nursery going, this full time jobs are what is acting as the barrier and the reason why some parents cannot make to school most at times when this activities are organized by schools. The fathers interviewed could have been dishonest to the researcher in terms of how involved they truly are in their children’s education. In my opinion, interviewing children to find out their perceptions on the roles fathers play in their education could provide more accurate results. Some questions asked were so sensitive that some did not want to give more details like the frequency in which the father goes to school; some of them took a lot of time to gather courage to explain more on this.

Conclusion The main aim of this study was to investigate the father’s involvement in their children education at an early year’s level, according to the literature review it noted that a father involvement in a child education will boost the self-esteem and confidence of the child which will in return lead to a good foundation in the later years. The parent involvement generally is the most essential factor for the child growth because the child will be looking into the two parents as the guiding stars, the father as one of the guiding stars should really get involved in the child education especially in the early years. A family with the support of a mother and father will result to a more successful family which will create a strong bong with the children hence at the end of the day improves the performance of the child when he or she is still at the tender age of nursery going, the children will themselves appreciate this noble role they have with their children.

In conclusion, from the analysis and discussion of findings of this study we have been able to deeply understand the role of the fathers in the child education at the early stage as well as being able to understand our problem statement which was to investigate the fathers involvement of the fathers involvement in their children education at an early age. Fathers should as well get involved in this as they are the heads of the family and they owe the involvement of their children whereby they have to make sure that their children have the best they want in life.

The study recommends that strategies for promoting parental involvement should be developed and relies heavily on parents’ ability to visit their child’s school such as organizing workshops and other events to be held in the school as many families have no time to schedule a meeting with their child’s teachers or to attend school events and face- to-face communication becomes rare. The face to face communication is the only way that the fathers can actively get involved in their children especially during the early years of their education, both parents should mutually agree on how they will arrange on how they will be visiting schools whenever there is a school function which is organized by the school management without failure.
