However, there are many people who do not feel like they belong to the section that they are in. These people are commonly known as transgender, struggling every day with feelings of being out of place (Singh 23). When someone identifies themselves as being transgender, it means they feel that their biological gender does not match with their psychological gender. A large portion of the society is unknowingly misinformed about this group of people, and many believe that transgender individuals are always mistreated and discriminated. However, arguments claiming that there is widespread discrimination against transgender people are unsupported. Given the unique nature of transgender individuals in the society, the processes of changing their identification documents have to be a little bit different to avoid instances of scam and misuse of the title (Riggle 151).

For instance, it is necessary for transgender individuals to undergo and present documents of having undergone hormonal, surgical, or other appropriate treatment for the purpose of gender transition. Just like transgender individuals, any other person in the United States needs to acquire accurate birth certificates, social security cards, passports, and driver’s licenses. The processes for acquiring such documents are the same for everyone. Therefore, claims that transgender individuals are discriminated in acquiring or changing documents are misinformed. S. Department of Education filed a statement of interest in support of the student. Also, schools across the United States have strict regulations against the bullying, harassment, or mistreatment of transgender students. Another point of the argument is on the employability of transgender people.

The argument for the existence of widespread anti-transgender biases claims that transgender people in the United States face many complex obstacles in their endeavor to get employment and earn a living. Furthermore, the results of such studies may not apply to the entire transgender population. It is also logical to point out that some transgender individuals fail to get adequate health services because they avoid the services because of the fear of being harassed or discriminated against. Most of the health facilities in the United States treat every individual equally. Furthermore, over the past few decades, the medical community has shown dedication to improving health care for transgender individuals (Ard 3). Also, research shows that medical schools are spending significant time on transgender, bisexual, gay, and lesbian issues.

The representatives’ vote to pass the bill is an indication that the government is dedicated toward ensuring equal treatment of all people in the housing sector. There is also an argument of widespread anti-transgender violence in the United States and other parts of the world. This argument claims that there is an increasing rate of violence targeting transgender people. However, the support for this claim is not adequate. According to the statistics, in 2016, 23 deaths of transgender individuals were reported in the United States. government is striving to strengthen the protection of transgender people under the criminal law. Proposals to strengthen such criminal law include prohibiting the agitation against transgender people. It is against the law to discriminate against transgender individuals in housing, public functions, education, training, health care employment, or the sale of goods and supply of services.
