Correctional Systems and Practices Prison Design Project

This raises a significant concern for having a guide on the planning and designing of prisons. The guides aim at instilling careful thoughts about possible ways of constructing the new jail. The physical safety and mental health of detainees are the dominant force driving the proper and appropriate design of prisons. Being an integrated communal facility, both the staff and detainees should be considered in the new design of the prison. The key pillars to be discussed include but not limited to the following; proper perimeter wall, appropriate and adequate lighting system, sturdy gate, erecting strong watch-towers, installing surveillance cameras, adequate air-conditioning within the detainees' building among others. To enhance tight security within the prison compound, strong watch-towers need to be built in the design of prison.
