Rational Model versus the Political Model
Document Type:Coursework
Subject Area:Business
After the choice has been implemented causal relation can be comprehended because the rational model commences with a main objective influencing deliberation (Wermer & Vining, 2017). The normalization of new clinical technologies and other complex technologies within the healthcare sector encompassed a superordinate goal to establish a normalization process model to improve the efficiency of new inputs in health care. The policy is an example of a rational model. In contrast, a political model has no superordinate goal but depends on conflict resolution. The values, in this case, are not prioritized as with the rational model but are determined by self-interest (Wermer & Vining, 2017). Policy analysis proceeds to establish the evaluation criteria, which compares the alternative policies in terms of cost, net benefit and effectiveness in addressing the problem as defined in the problem statement.
