Many try to go beyond these availed means that have been used for ages to cope with the rest of their competitors and they try to use varied means to become better. These would include all sorts of things and are simply referred to as ergogenic substances (Bean 12). Extensive use of these has caused for highly punitive action to be taken with laws being passed against the very act of using these drugs or substances for any reason before any competition. Various groups including governments have gone up in arms with great threats for anyone caught engaging in the practices and some even being punished to prove that these administrative groups mean business. Review of Literature Many varied supplements for the diet are used across the planet.

It has been shown severally that a dietary supplement that is deficient of RDA may actually affect the presence of VO2 max and the necessary oxygen for the right working of the body is less than a month’s time. High calorie intake supplemented with lots of RDA shows very limited deficiency in minerals and vitamins (Bean 31). In light of this therefore, how efficient are the supplements in aiding the body of an athlete to not only develop but also adjust to the high metabolic rates necessary for exercise and for the development of stamina and mechanical advantage? A general look into Literature as a whole does in verity prop up the presumption that the supplements are not really needed for the success of any sportsmen.
