Role of friendship on Moral development of students Name Institution Date Introduction The morality is molded by a set of tangential issues that are intricately linked with each one of them having a significant impact on a person's moral development. Peer groups and friendships play a significant role in shaping adolescents and children's moral development paths. This is the reason why most parents want their children to have good friends. They believe that having good friends will aid in the moral development of their children. In analyzing the various psychological and philosophical aspects of morality Aristotle and Confucius views on friendship emerge. According to their arguments friendships act as a positive force in enhancing and fostering moral development among adolescents and children. This is because they provide the latter with a background to formulate their moral principles rules and values on. For this reason morality is an intrapersonal and remedies for their weaknesses. This implies that friendships provide people with an opportunity to learn things they do not know such as the ideal ways of handling ethical dilemmas. For instance moral issues such as trust commitment and loyalty tend to feature prominently in close relationships thus serving as the foundation for the continuous struggle which accompanies moral development among students.
