Using the solstice in this case is used to describe a time of the lowest level a person or situation is at its worst. Read the poem carefully, paying particular attention to the effectiveness of the structure and tone. Then in a well-organized essay, analyze how Morley uses these poetic elements to reveal her purpose in writing about the moon. Your analysis should include the following analytical section (in addition to the introduction and conclusion): a. Introduction: introduce the poem, its title, its poet, its publication date. Include a brief idea of the plot of the poem and then move directly into the analysis of the poem b. Main analysis: Using the poetic elements of tone and structure, discuss how Morley used these device to convey her message. In other words, what is the tone, what is the structure and how does it assist you in understanding the poem and its message. Use text examples to support your answer. c. Conclusion: recap your main points and leave the reader with a thought-provoking ending.
