However, Hadidi and Al Khateeb (2015) argue that competent leadership skills are imperative in aiding teaching and learning process in Individualized Education programs (IEP). While some scholars argue that leadership skills play a minute role in facilitating efficient learning and teaching of special education, Alquraini (2013) maintains that leadership qualities such as building positive relationships and individual instruction are fundamental in facilitating effective teaching in special education programs. This study is concerned with the investigation of the role of leadership in facilitating special education programs. The study will narrow down to the special education school in Saudi Arabia. Literature Review Aldabas (2015) reports that special education in Saudi Arabia began in 1958. The leadership attribute of identifying the resources needed in special education is essential in ensuring that the special education students have the conducive learning environment.

In a recent study, Hadidi and Al Khateeb (2015) demonstrates that the ability of special need institutions to carry out assessment has led to the need for leaders with assessment and identification attributes. Hypothesis and Research Questions Several assumptions will be made in this study. The research will assume the leadership principles are paramount for the successful implementation of special education in Saudi Arabia. This will help narrow down to the core factors that play a dominant role in influencing the special education in the country. These case studies will be the primary sources of information. However, other peer-reviewed articles will also be included for broadening the scope of the study and precise findings of the paper. The research intends to include a minimum of six case studies to collect substantial information on the topic.
