The author by chance proves that it is never too late to raise the ability of our children in thinking for themselves, weighing options, and considering sources. In this paper, I will discuss the motivation behind the book Raising Children Who Think for Themselves and relate it to the author's reasons for writing it. Besides, I will identify five critical qualities that a self-directed child should have, discuss the difference between internally directed children and external headed children as well as their significance. What was the motivation behind this book? Can you relate to the reasons why the author wrote this book? Be specific. The motivation behind this book is that the author would read horror stories every morning in the newspaper such as parents or siblings being killed by children, quotas getting racked up by gangs, mothers chaining their children.

They make choices that honor their moral character. • Being an asset within the group There is the motivation behind finding one's niche within a group. Children who are extensively motivated desire to be approved by the group as well as sacrifice their own identities. What is the difference between Internal and External directed? Discuss the “Critical Crossroads, its significance and when it occurs?” Internal control locus helps people to be internally driven. They portray a greater self-efficacy level. About creating the proper family environment to foster Self-Directed thinking, name three behaviors parents can eliminate that promote Externally Direction. Discuss the one you find most damaging and why. Be specific with your reasoning and include support from our text where possible. When a parent is raising two or more children, have a certain behavior that when eliminated, the immediate result will be self-directed thinking.

The first behavior is thinking about others and above us. When this aspect is eliminated from parenting, children are advantaged to have self-directed thinking and put their needs before others. Discuss Repression and Domination as discussed in the book. What type of parenting might each correlate within our text? Authoritarian parenting is another meaning for referring to domination. In this style, parents exercise their control over the child. The option left for the child is to listen without inquiring much on what the parent says. Reprimand and illogical punishment, though indoctrination, over controlling and rescuing. In controlling the unwanted behaviors while growing up, over controlling was mostly used. The moment I exhibited an unwanted behavior, my freedoms were cut down, and this was used repeatedly.

Taking back of privileges is an action that works most in eliminating unwanted behaviors like nagging, keeping things untidy. A child is entitled to a set routine of waking up earlier and getting ready for school by self. Whenever the child does a job and supposes they win the child should be rewarded to boost up their spirit (Medhus, 2001). Whenever the child tried a lot but couldn't win but tried the parents should praise them boost their confidence and should motivate them more for winning next time. ! They should encourage them for their work and let them do the best next time. !! Yes, it is vital so that the child can be motivated for the thing next time doesn’t get discouraged.

How can a parent de-rail unhealthy Internal Dialogue? Why is this an important task to do with children?    A child's self-concept, self-esteem, self-confidence develops when they are young. Tough lives strike many of us in most cases, and we fail to focus on all that goes ahead in our musings. When we are in contact with our intuition, we get consistent guidance as the day progressed. When we are present and focusing, we will be guided toward a particular something and far from another. We may be conducted to telephone one specific individual, or be guided to state or not state certain words to somebody. We can get "yes" or "no" answers continually, regardless of whether at work and settling on needs or looking for supper or picking what our subsequent stage is amid the day.
