Paradigm Shifts Occurring in Cultures

This technology still remains to be one of those which caused the most impactful revolutions on culture which was ever invented. Therefore, among Gutenberg, Copernicus, Columbus, and Luther, Gutenberg had the most influence on the culture in the west. The printing press owned by Gutenberg revolutionized how information was spread to people. There was more availability of books and they were more affordable increasing the literacy levels of people. With increased literacy came about more innovative ideas which could now be written down and spread for all to read. He also enabled the printing and nailing of theses on doors of cathedrals which brought about great reforms. Last but not least, electronic communication in the modern form still depends on printed word since it would not be possible without Gutenberg and his great innovation.
