Constitutionally, the attorney general protects the laws and the constitution of the nation of Texas, represents the state in the lawsuit and commends public bond issues. The AG is a powerful and influential office in the Texas government. The powers, qualification, the term of office, and installation of the Attorney general are established by Article 4 of the Texas Constitution. Therefore the Attorney general is elected by the qualified voters of the State (Choice of Texans: Leaders in the Statehouse). Moreover, the Attorney General is assigned the role by the state constitution to represent the nation in civil litigation as well as approve public bond problems. He proceeded with his education at the Hankamer School of Business and graduated with a Master of Business Administration in the year 1986.

Before Paxton enrolled at the University Of Virginia School Of Law in Charlottesville in Virginia, he was working as a management consultant. However, in the year 1991, he obtained his Juris Doctor degree (McNeely and Henderson). In McKinney, Texas, as a resident, Paxton has worked in different local organizations and councils. He is also in the group of the Chamber of Commerce as a member in Allen Frisco and McKinney. However, he suggests that the accusations are just to fight him hard to exonerate him. It is viewed that, since the things that Paxton is suspected of doing includes neither his state office nor his campaign, then he can’t utilize the campaign funds. Therefore, the funds have to be from his pocket or from the gifts he receives from the individuals who have no official relation with the Attorney General.
