C Johnson, John Hick and William Paley try to show and argue the importance of evil and the balance it brings to the world. I. Introduction. Thesis. The presence of evil in the world has become a controversial discussion on the existence of God and why he would allow it. C Johnson: Why doesn’t God Intervene to Prevent Evil? In reference to B. C Johnson, it is believed that God never attends or intervenes to prevent the evil and the bad from happening to his people. The presence of evil such as disaster creates a space for moral urgency responsibility. So, to create moral urgency, God had the idea of disaster and other evils such as accident and pain. Also, to create a possibility for virtues such as sympathy and courage, suffering and evil would have to be there.
