Perception 39(10) pp.1427-1430. The work of Sorkowski (2010) is an analysis of the presentation of attractiveness factor in women as presented in paintings of the earlier times. In the research the element that was analyzed for was the leg-to-body ratio (LBR). In the assessment it was found that people think long legged women are more attractive. The analysis has been conducted with depiction of women in paintings such as the ‘Birth of Venus’ from the renaissance era. This work is useful for research on understanding Greek mythology in renaissance period paintings as it shows how a swan. Many paintings have been done on Leda and the Swan. This source presents the painting of Leonardo in critical discussions on other art works of the author. The work of da Vinci is once again situated in a historical context. His work on Leda and the Swan and how it was inspired are narrated from the data that is available on his other works and people in his life. This source is particularly interesting as this work is not available to the public now. It is considered to be destroyed or lost now. The writing is hence the only source on the work and can be used to understand how the work presents Greek mythology in renaissance style. [...]
