Qualitative research can help to improve nursing practice by providing nurses with knowledge on patient perspectives of care and incorporating that into practice to enhance the delivery of care. Sampling is the process of selecting a subset of the study population that will e included in the research study. Sampling is important in research as it ensures the accuracy of the research by ensuring that the population included in the study fits the criteria established for inclusion in the study. Sampling also enables researchers to effectively study the population utilizing smaller numbers compared to studying a whole population which would be prone to errors and bias. In conclusion, nursing research is an important aspect in the development of evidence-based practice and in helping nurses respond to the changing healthcare environment.
