Critics often call hip-hop materialistic, misogynistic, homophobic, racist, vulgar and violent. It’s a hot mess, the roar of total chaos. ” (Chang 2009). In order to understand where the origins of Hip-Hop culture began it is essential to remember that Hip-Hop is not just about the music, it was an art form and a way of life so some individuals and a way for these individuals to express themselves. You also have to understand why it happened and how it happened and what these individuals were trying to convey to their audience. Everything is related in a sense within this genre of music. Hip-Hop and Rap have the ability to communicate to their community more so than any other music genre. Hip hop is not just music.

It is a lifestyle and cultural movement. Since the birth of Hip-Hop, Hip-Hop culture has been considered one of the most important phenomena that has occurred during the 20th and 21st century in the United States and has impacted so many lives. Hip-Hop was now known for the use of lyrical content in order to express their anger and violence towards those within their community. Briefly discuss the politics of what constitutes US hip-hop cinema. For example, what elements make a film part of the hip-hop tradition? How is hip-hop culture portrayed and integrated into film's narrative? As a scholar of hip-hop cinema, how are these distinctions helpful and/or problematic? As young people listen and acquaint themselves with the messages that are propagated through the art of hip-hop music they get to learn the best means of checking and promoting hope among themselves. In the music industry today, most of the hip-hop musicians are into the art of developing and giving hope to the young generations. This is often done and ensured through the utilization of the teachings that these musicians have been working out either through their personal experiences or the experiences of their close friends and family members. The message that is often carried in the genre of hip-hop music is meant to teach and give hope to other people who listen to such music. The educators can, therefore, reap big from this genre of music by teaching other young people through the strong message that it is playing and reciprocating to the masses.
