The past two decades have experienced a decline in teen pregnancy, which can be attributed to the increased to increased education in schools regarding how to avoid teen pregnancy. Among the teenage of between 13 and 19, the girls between the ages 15 to 19 are most affected by the phenomenon as they are more exposed to practicing sex. Moreover, their sexual hormones have developed and they tend to be curious with the urge to practice the act in an unplanned way leading to pregnancy. Evidently, 78 percent of the teenage pregnancies indicate that the relative sex act was unplanned. Although the practice is seen as a promotion to teenage sex, it has significantly controlled teenage pregnancy with the related life wastage of the concerned teenager (Secura et al. Therefore, the public policy has intervened in the teenage pregnancy societal issue in an aim to prevent the consequences related to the problem especially in spoiling the promising life of the teenager. In this regard, it has offered various options including education, free and quality condoms as well as affordable contraceptives for controlling teenager pregnancy cases. Therefore, the society provides many public policy executors on teenage pregnancy that helps to portray the negativity of the phenomenon and the available means that effectively prevents it.

Analysis of the Policy Process The policy process entails the formulation, implementation, and legislation phase. The formulation phase involves gathering data and presenting to the team for evaluation. The evaluation stage entails debating and discussion on the topic. In this regard, the data collected concerning teenage pregnancy is debated to find a solution through an informed means of decision-making. The process has been applied by various political organizations as they endeavor to diminish the societal problem. They have engaged in a political coalition to provide finance implementation for the solution reached. The media too plays the role of creating awareness to the members of the public to attract interested sponsorship who seeks at reducing teenage pregnancy. Current Status and Evaluation The teenage pregnancy prevention program deals with areas such as education, counseling, contraception, career development in women’s health, as well as drug abuse.

Besides, it should involve several stakeholders such as social workers, politicians, parents, NGO’s as well as child and women groups. The political elements have emphasized on eradicating the pregnancy issue where they mobilize youths from higher institutions to form groups that advocates for teenage abstinence. This method is more effective since the teens can relate well with youths, which can help to understand issues experienced that urges them to practice sexual behaviors. I have been involved in the group mobilization where teens have been able to reveal information about their sexual engagements. The groups have been able to provide condoms to the teens, which have effectively reduced the number of teenage pregnancies. The politicians organize campaigns where the groups face the teens one on one and teach them sexual abstinence techniques as well as create awareness on alternatives such as contraceptives.
