Clinical depression is different from any form of stress resulting from situations in life such as the loss of a loved one. It does not also originate from a medical condition a reason why it falls under the severe type of depression. In healthcare facilities, diagnosing the clinical depression takes place in different forms but mostly through the use of symptom criteria which aids in the identification of its presence in a person's body (PsychCentral, 2018). There is the need to address clinical disorder early enough before it could lead to other mental challenges that may have a permanent impact on a person's life. Clinical depression is part of the major depressions that affect people in the society and makes their lives hard.

In the case of men, some of the conditions that show easily include fatigue, lack of sleep and loss of interest in most of the activities that they have previously done. In the case of women, they become sad and unable to perform their daily tasks. Some of the people suffer from atypical depression which makes them have more appetite and tiredness which affects their ability to sleep. The effects of clinical depression may, therefore, increase appetite and cravings (John, 2018). The different signs and symptoms of clinical depression have major effects on people's health and their ability to handle different activities. Also, substance abuse has an impact on the neurotransmitters which then results in the development of clinical depression. The causes of clinical depression may not be known to people but there is a high probability that some factors expose people to the risk.

The risk factors that also contribute to the development of clinical depression include gender, age, socioeconomic status and medical conditions that are chronic. Also, where people do not have access to social support and other underlying personality disorders result in the development of clinical depression. The female gender and people of an advanced age have a high risk of contracting the illness (PsychCentral, 2018). For example, one should have positive energy and work with people towards avoiding any lonely moment. Also, talking to people about challenges which they face so that they do not end up developing clinical depression will aid in preventing clinical depression. Conclusion In conclusion, clinical depression has negative effects on a person's body, abilities, and well-being. There is the need to understand the causes of clinical depression, the risk factors and the methods of dealing with the challenge.
