People engage themselves in prayer to communicate with their God. However, there are different ways in which people present their prayers. Some use prayer as a form of worship in a religious practice. Moreover, the individual praying can decide to participate in a private or public prayer. As a result, people may decide to use prayer silently, by singing or using some words which enhance the nature of prayer. It involves many people coming together to pray. This is illustrated in the incident where the disciples assembled together and started praying after Jesus had ascended to heaven (Acts 1:14). Similarly, the same type of prayer can be illustrated as in the first Church which began in Antioch. The congregation devoted themselves in prayer after the day of Pentecost.

The incident is marked in Acts 2:42 and it motivates and encourages people to pray. The first method is engaging in a direct petition with God. This is the most common form in which Christians use. It entails an individual appealing himself directly to God to seek grants in form of requests. The approach can be also referred to as a social approach since the individual goes directly to start praying to God to present his needs. It can also be described as a situation in which an individual enters into God's rest to seek Him to fulfill the needs. The method is crucial in Christianity since it enables the believers to get experience in prayer. Importance of prayer Prayer is considered to have much importance which makes people pray.

Its importance is linked to the reasons why people pray. For instance, prayer makes people be close to God as stated in John 15:16. In that incident, Jesus asserts that He does not call us His servants since once we pray, a deeper relationship is developed which makes us come closer to Him as stated in (1 Kings 8:22-53). Therefore, God Sends Holy spirit to guide us when we pray. Conclusion Prayer is a formal communication between an individual with God. There are many types of prayer which people can offer.
