Therefore, this paper will focus on the concept of Grace according to Martin Luther and the importance of embracing it. The Grace of God is what brings one to light and makes the world beautiful and peaceful to live in. Luther seeks to emphasize the concept of Grace and the glory of a Christian in his text, The Freedom of a Christian. The concepts presented by Luther in the aspect of Grace will be looked at in this paper will be looked at, it will focus mainly on how Luther perceived the life of a Christian should be. Grace is an important virtue that one ought to possess as they grow and interact with both the world and people and it has been explained in a number of ways by a variety of people.

The presentation of a person can be deceiving, and Luther touches on this aspect briefly. According to him, Grace is more than what we can see; it is the deeds that one does and the life that one life that describes whether he has Grace or not. In his letter to Mayor Muhlphordt, Luther states that “…in terms of praise concerning your love for and pleasure in the Holy Scripture, which you also diligently confess and unceasingly praise before all men. For this reason, he desired to make acquainted with you, I yielded willingly and gladly to his persuasion, for it is a special pleasure to hear of someone who loves divine truth” (Luther, Lehmann, and Grimm pg. In the quote, it is evident that Grace comes from God and this is the reason as to why Luther praises his friend the Mayor.

In a statement given by Husband, he states that “we carry the Grace of God with us, even after we die” (12). Meaning that it is a virtue that we will be judged by after we die. In addition, within the same article,. , proceeds on to argue that, “the lives we live when we are alive, play a major role in defining who we become and as such, we ought to be careful in every step we take if we want to be under the light of Grace” (Husband 15). Within this quote, grace is viewed as being an aspect that is defined by our character and actions and even the slightest sin might make us fall out of favour with God’s Grace.
