Title: Name: Professor: Course: Institution: Date: The Life of Pi Life of Pi is an original literary work that has been lauded by critics as being a good descriptive narrative (Robert W. 614-617). The narrative revolves around the tribulations of a castigated young fellow who faces insurmountable odds at the heart of the sea. The novel also focuses on thematic issues such as faith religion and art. Execution of these elements in the book has been carried out in a witty fashion that gives a further insight of the internal conflict that Pi is at odds with as he attempts to understand his world. Being stuck in a shipwreck for 227 days Pi manages to understand the harsh elements at sea and is in turn able to harness this raw material and energy to his advantage and ensure its survival at sea. When he realizes that he is stuck the world through the eyes of Pi are well captured the reader almost feels that he or she is side by side with pi as he endlessly battles the ravages of the sea and overcomes the insurmountable odds a day at a time. Through persistence Pi overcomes the writer has employed the use of descriptive language to get us into the mind of Pi. This eventually lets us understand his wish to overcome the cold harsh storms of the eerie sea that claimed his loved ones (Steve 179-180). . References Service Robert W.
