Various theories have been advocated to explain the gender identity theories. All these theories have been made with a primary aim of explaining some critical changes associated with the age of adolescence. This paper will describe some gender identity theories and how they affect the growth process. Analyzing the theories One of the theories is the transgender development theory that was developed by Bilodeau’s in 2005 (Kelly, 2014). This theory heavily focuses on the relationship between the behavior that specific genders developed and the environment that they live in. Imitating the behaviors of their peers offers the behavior change to suit their peers who in most share gender issues (Kelly 2014). Genderism will determine many factors. Such factors like how the children dress, how they talk and the perception that will have on people of different gender.

When the children are born, they are immediately assigned sex and the assumed gender, which they will grow up with. Bandeaus also explain the reasons behind the development of the transgender people in the society including the gays and the lesbians. It is one of the core reasons that shape the children to grow up to a particular angle in the community based on their gender preference as depicted in the theories. How they think, act and reason are determined by the gender they associate themselves. Gender-based theories are also the prime reason behind the explanation of various concepts in the society.
