In fact what Ladd is trying to create in the mind of the reader as early as at the beginning of his writing is that the whole concept of the code of ethics is not relevant? The way Ladd has demonstrated his opinions with arguments which are inspiring convictions is enough for one to fall into his trap. However, Ladd does not disagree with the entire code of ethics. At some point, he appreciates that the code of ethics was formulated by the experts so as to create their own guidelines of conduct in respect to one another as well as to ensure that the decision made inclines towards the public good. Ladd argues that the ethics itself can be understood as an open-ended, philosophical and critical knowledgeable activity.

It is problematic as well as controversial in terms of its principles together with its application (Ladd, p. For example just because one is a doctor, he/she has no special right of being rude or to deceive or even too command adult people as if they are children. The same to lawyers, they have no right to bending laws to suit their clients or to bully witnesses. Ethical issues in terms of professionals can be divided into macro-ethics or micro-ethics (Ladd, p. Macro-ethics comprises of the general social problems facing members of a particular profession as a group relating to the society while micro-ethics concerns the moral aspect of individual relationships amongst individual professionals with the other persons who could either be their clients, their colleagues or their employers.
