Despite this, this artificial selection whereby organisms with certain desired characteristics are allowed to breed and give out an offspring with a mixture of desired traits have been limited to variations that are naturally occurring. In the recent past years, genetic engineering has been experiencing advancement and this has allowed for precise control of the genetic changes of an organism. Through the use of a genetic modification of organism genes, one is currently able to incorporate new genes from one species to a totally new species thus optimizing agricultural performance or in other the cases facilitating the production of a certain pharmaceutical substance. There is a good number of advantages that are associated with this types of products. They are also seen as potential social of some pharmaceutical drugs. Due to these uses, they are being seen to be useful products and thus why they are still being used. Despite this, they are a discussion of whether they are safe for human consumption or not with some claiming that they are safe for human consumption and others holding that they are not safe for human consumption at all. The research was concerned with some aspects of the GMOs such as allergenicity, toxicity, and nutrition value of the products. In their research, it was found that GMOs have nutritional values that are below the normal foods and thus they should not be recommended for guan consumption. Genetically modified crops are used by farmers as a way of improving their crops so as to keep them alive as well as to increase their yield.
