While some would like to make justifications for their actions, some want to live in accordance with God's will. Some people want to make their lives better and righteous through reading the Bible while others have misled their followers through a wring understanding. Despite the claims that the New Testament has more relevance to people's lives today, the paper provides reasons why the Old Testament is worth reading as well. Based on the Bible During the time when Jesus was on earth, it is only from the Old Testament that he read different scriptures and taught people using them. Jesus used the Old Testament to preach in Israel and it was from the same version that he healed people. The Old Testament remains the schoolmaster- Paul says "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

" (Romans 3:31). When one reads these words, and other words by different writers, there is the urge to go back to the Old Testament and try to understand the background of the law. This is because having an understanding of the history will make it possible to understand the New Testament. It is impossible to understand the new covenant given by God in Jeremiah 31:31 if there are no records of the prophets who were involved in writing about it. It is clear that the message of faith as depicted in the Bible has never changed and continues being the same regardless of its presentation in different Testaments. On the other hand, the values and the truths presented in the Bible have remained timeless.

Some people have claimed that the teachings provided in the Bible are archaic but they have not provided any reasons why they believe in this claim. When rejecting the truth, one should always provide viable reasons that clearly indicate why some message and information delivered in the Bible is incorrect or inaccurate (Fuller, 5). The claims that the Bible does not provide accurate information is part of personal opinions and in most cases misleading to the society. The Old Testament has provided some doctrines which tend to explain the law to people and how it applies to their daily lives. In this case, the law has derived some important values from the Bible to make it efficient in guiding people through their lives.
