Bank Teller Executive Summary Major Issues and Challenges: My first perception that attracted my mind was the large number of fulltime employees compared to part-time worked in banking sector. However the first method I came up with was working under the banks constrains. It was a real challenging to match the requirements. As a result the first plan required additional employees per week. The main problem with increasing the number of employees is the higher portion of cost spending on full time employees than the part time employees. It results being an actual problem for the bank to control labor costs in the long run. However the inadequacy of the tellers makes it difficult to the operations manager to come up with a proper schedule friendly to all workers while at the same time reducing the cost of the labor force. The other constraint that was the main reason leading to huge cost of labor within the tellers’ department was the number of full timers. I believe that the department has overloaded with the Full-timers while they can have only one FT worker. However I tried my best to keep most of the FT employees inside the department. However keeping only two FT employees is fair enough to ensure the same productivity equivalent to that of four employees. Also keeping only two reduced the overall cost ratio that was really heavily on the FT employees’ hours. [...]
