First, humans have resulted into habitat loss. This includes the thinning, fragmenting and the destruction of the soil, plant, hydrologic and nutrient resources of the ecosystem. Secondly, humans have caused overexploitation of resources. For example, there has been excessive harvesting of many of the terrestrial and aquatic animals which has resulted in the depletion of some of the stock and other species have been pushed to extinction. Moreover, humans have caused pollution by adding various forms of substances into the environment at rates they can be rendered harmless. Habitat loss and fragmentation refers to where an animal or plant used to live but due to urbanization by us and deforestation either caused by us or natural causes like wildfires and storms.
