In Latin America there existed two different eras where the nation employed the Import Substitution Industrialization and the Neoliberalism policies which had both positive and negative impacts too. The import substitution Industrialization policy was a policy adopted by the Americans in the 1930s where the economy devaluated their home currency in order to boost their exports and reduce imports which 1147).There was the increase movement if individuals to the different nations to start their own businesses which was identified as a way of reducing the rise of squatter living in the urban centers in times of joblessness. The policies of both Import-Substitution Industrialization and Neoliberalism strongly influenced the urban geography of Latin America, but in profoundly different ways. First, differentiate between the two policies and then compare and contrast their effects on urban areas, including the distribution of cities as well as what is occurring within cities.
