Name: Course: Tutor: Date: Blackish Season 2 Episode 5 Analysis Introduction The TV series Blackish is a very interesting comedy one that mainly involves the typical issues that face the families in America. The series is a very good family comedy and is currently on its second season. For my critique I decided to analyse the fifth episode of the second season. The Episode is titled “Churched” and the title of the series significantly relates to the storyline and the theme expressed in that specific episode. The main theme expressed in this episode is the importance of being spiritual and more specifically going to church. The theme is strongly promoted by the Johnson’s family neighbor The Johnson family and the Dre’s mother who is portrayed as being very holy. Dre’s Mom is also used to show that lies can be tolerated in church when she stated that her son was away fighting the Taliban and even goes ahead to mention that to the congregation so as to cover the absence of his son from church. Conclusion Generally blackish is a very good comedy and one that can be enjoyed by the family and that there are a lot of family values that members of the family can learn from watching the series. This episode “churched” was one of the best episodes of the series and has plenty to be learnt from [...]
