The overall performance of an organization depends on how its members work together independently and corporately to achieve the overall organizational goal. Therefore, teamwork is a key part in the success of an organization. Teamwork not only helps to improve creativity and productivity at the work place, it also helps to achieve harmony that leads to a peaceful and productive coexistence within the organization. Despite these benefits, having effective teamwork within organization is not easy. Some of the organizational problems that challenge effective teamwork include low morale conflict between members, high turnover of members, inefficiencies in activities, confusion about decision making and problem solving, ineffective meetings and poor performance among members. In the paper, Edmondson and Harvey (2017) seek to provide more insight on the complexity of cross-boundary teaming as well as provide the factors that promote the effectiveness of cross boarder teaming.

The study employs an integrative model that gives more explanatory power compared to the previous approaches and uses this to investigate efforts and performance in teaming across boundaries with regards to their innovation level. The paper focuses on the effectiveness teams as well as organizational research on knowledge. It involves two studies where one is focused on group dynamic and measures team processes, inputs, emergent issues and outputs and the other researches on objects and dialog in recurrent social practices. However, the study is limited because it is mainly based on a review on previous studies by other scholars. In the research by Moe, N. B. , Dingsøyr, T. and Dybå, (2010), they focus on providing a better understanding of the nature of self-managing agile teams, and the teamwork challenges that come along with introducing such teams.

The authors believe that the forming agile teams need adequate intervention and reorientation from the team members and the management to ensure that team works effectively. I will therefore, use this research affirm the strategies on how to have successful team work in an organization. Nancarrow, S. A. , Booth, A. , Ariss, S. However, the study is limited because it has failed to examine the interaction between the characteristics of interdisciplinary teams. Moreover, part of the study is informed by available literature which could lead to bias on the results. This research has usefully identified the ten characterizes that lead to effective interdisciplinary performance and cooperation. This research will be useful in my essay because it will help provide support and basis upon which to identify ten strategies of achieving effective team performance.

I will therefore use the findings to affirm my proposed strategies for effective team work management.  Resuscitation, 82(2), pp. The research by Siassakos, Fox, Crofts, Hunt, Winter, and Draycott, (2011), is focused on determining the relationship between team work skills and behaviors and team performance. It is conducted as a simulated emergency experience and the response and performance of the team is measured. The research involves 140 healthcare professionals who are grouped in to 24 teams and are exposed to a simulation process and fire-drill evaluation random experiment. The results are measured using a validated tool for investigating skills and behaviors as provide by Weller. This research has employed an extensive literature review on previous studies conducted on effective team performance. The authors note that the success of an organization involves activities that need a lot communication and involvement between the members involved.

Moreover, the authors establish that for activities to be perfect, the organization needs a team that is cross functional and able to have a common perspective of the task, the procedures involved, and duties of every member involved in performing the task. The authors identify team reward system as one of the fastest ways organizations can move and create team-based environments. Moreover, the research also identifies training and learning as the key ways of creating an effective team by having uniquely tailored training for each team depending in their needs and roles (Tohidi, 2011), Besides, team goals and lower variance in wages among team members are identified as key ways of moving an organization towards working as a team. Moreover, other factors such as appropriate leadership and time are key ingredients of having a perfect team work management.

The research has also provided over ten strategies of achieving teamwork within the organization and thus would be useful in developing an excellent paper on effective teamwork in organizational management. The management of a simulated emergency: better teamwork, better performance.  Resuscitation, 82(2), pp. Tohidi, H. Knowledge diversity is seen to expand the range of views and ideas that teams can draw upon to innovate. Yet, case studies reveal that teaming across knowledge boundaries can be difficult in practice, and innovation is not always realized. Two streams of research are particularly relevant for understanding the challenges inherent in cross-boundary teaming: research on team effectiveness and research on knowledge in organizations.

They offer complementary insights: the former stream focuses on group dynamics and measures team inputs, processes, emergent states, and outcomes, while the latter closely investigates dialog and objects in recurrent social practices. Drawing from both streams, this paper seeks to shed light on the complexity of cross-boundary teaming, while highlighting factors that may enhance its effectiveness. Our objective is thus to provide a better understanding of the nature of self-managing agile teams, and the teamwork challenges that arise when introducing such teams. Method We conducted extensive fieldwork for 9 months in a software development company that introduced Scrum. We focused on the human sensemaking, on how mechanisms of teamwork were understood by the people involved. Results We describe a project through Dickinson and McIntyre’s teamwork model, focusing on the interrelations between essential teamwork components.

Problems with team orientation, team leadership and coordination in addition to highly specialized skills and corresponding division of work were important barriers for achieving team effectiveness. and Roots, A. Ten principles of good interdisciplinary team work.  Human resources for Health, 11(1), p. Abstract Background Interdisciplinary team work is increasingly prevalent, supported by policies and practices that bring care closer to the patient and challenge traditional professional boundaries. To date, there has been a great deal of emphasis on the processes of team work, and in some cases, outcomes. P. , Winter, C. and Draycott, T. J.
