The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin Essay
Mallard, a lady that suffers from heart complications but sad to her condition, the death of her husband is revealed to her with caution (1). Her sister, Josephine fears the news might complicate her health. Greeted with the sad news, Mrs. Mallard chooses to isolate herself from her sister and the husband’s friend Mr. Richard to reminisce in her own room. She also sees a lone peddler crying his wares with no one to help, and more interestingly, she hears of faint notes of a song sang from a distant (2). All these express the aspect of loneliness. Like in the story, I believe most women die in thesilence of the same as many husbands today do not have time for their families.
