All these two groups had different reasons for choosing either of the sides they took. For instance, some sections of the group claimed that the move was good enough for the economy of the nation. Imperialism would largely strengthen the economy of the United States. Therefore, it was an opportunity to be fully grabbed and supported by the people. This same group claimed that imperialism was important in ensuring that the military power of the United States would increase because of imperialism. According to this group, this was a vast nation with unlimited markets for their manufactured goods and too many natural resources for higher production in their companies. Similarly, there have been discussions on the better side of the groups that won the debates on imperialism in the United States.

This should, however, be determined based on the actions and policies of the United States during that time, as well as after the period. The group that campaigned against the imperialism might have won the debate3. For instance, the United States greatly got into conflict with Japan during the attempts to acquire the Pacific at the time. The opportunity stopped other countries from making unnecessary on the most powerful nation at the time. However, this is a move that most citizens of the United States must be very glad that it failed and did not bring much war into a country that had known peace for a quite long time. This is a country that had taught other countries of the need to support and practice democracy in their countries.
