Document 1

Sometimes she disrupts other students because when she is coerced to interact with other students she even screams, rock back and forth or even shaking her arms and hands at her sides of her body. Describe replacement behaviors that will likely serve the same function as the behavior identified in Step 1. To make Brittany interactive, the teacher has to adopt more appropriate behaviors through teaching replacement behaviors and allowing her to engage in the new replacement behavior. In this case, the teacher should use dolls to help her engage. Here, Brittany should be asked to name the dolls and encouraged to play with them. The student will be informed of the times when she has to be interacting with others. Brittany should not be forced to interact with others if she is not comfortable.
