To the customer, value proposition is the promise to deliver value to the customer after they have made a purchase, it is what makes the product captivate the customer (Shanelle,2018). Using Sheth’s et al perceived consumer value conceptual framework, a value proposition of both the Tesla and the BYD company will be made. The value propositions in this report will be clearly distinguished in terms of the price, product offerings, quality, innovation and after sales support. Comparisons between Tesla in terms of their approach to making electric vehicles attractive to the ordinary customer relative to their value propositions, it is evident that Tesla is leading the two in terms of innovation. Ordinarily, people would want a product that while remaining innovative, is essentially future-proof and easy to upgrade.
