The activities had root from the large orthodox church. Therefore, with the development of the enlightenment ear which was felt in the Medieval period, the church was categorically concerned with the inherent role that the same was going to play in society. It was also the same concept that the Orthodox church felt that it was going to sweep its influence and the long impression that it had created on the people. The enlightenment period was based on various changes in beliefs and the way of life. It was during this time that various freethinkers emerged and who questioned virtually everything that was happening in society. The new wave of scientists during this time felt that some of the religious aspects which were fully being applied lacked the basic explanation to give the best view of the true events in the ground.

It, however, addresses that most of the conformity issues that were the basic developments of the Orthodoxy religion which did not accommodate questioning was fake and lack factual presentation to its nature (Wirtschafter 27). Some of the greatest scientists who emerged during this time such as Issac Newton and John Locke hold different beliefs which were different from the believes that the church, and in this case the Orthodox church believed to be true. In retrospect, these scientists of the enlightenment period developed their own believes which they argue to be true. For instance, these scientists believed in the concept of natural law and also in the reasonability of the Christian moral values and the morality that the church upheld as true during this time.

The orthodox church also had some discerning views on the ideas that had been developed by the scientists who hold different views and opinions about the role and the issues related to the creation theory and other characteristics that the scientists believed to be untrue. The Orthodox church argued that to discern between what is good and bad; the people need to have contact between the mind and the soul. To confirm the role that God played in the development of the human being, the heart and the mind of a person ought to be pure. The same according to the members of the Orthodoxy church lacked in those people who questioned the viability and the inherent role of God in the society.
