though it serves as a critical function of freeing people emotionally and legally from any form of unstable to a stable relationship. Over the centuries, divorce laws have been liberalized to an extent that it does not take into account adversarial approaches such as mediation and negotiation, which benefits children. Divorce has been one of the most events in the 20th century due to these laws, though it has changes roles and improves women status in society a substantial body of both clinical and research literature has accumulated which indicates the effects of divorce to children. According to Weaver & Schofield (2015), parental divorce has negative effects on children performances in school. There are usually several factors that lead to divorce, but the most prevalence factor is sexuality incompatibility, which contributed much to divorce.

The participant for the research were 12 children between 14-20 years, 5 males and 7 females, who came from divorced families. The researchers used the opened-ended question to ensure that respondents provide an answer in more details. The data collected was analyzed based on a written and spoken word The results of the research were presented in diagrammatic representation, outline the effects of divorce on the academic performance of children. the identified factors were; lack of emotional support, lack of financial support, family problems, and lack of pastoral support. The researchers noted that most respondents confirmed that lack of parental to school activities and homework assignments caused a situation where no one offers the emotional to this school overload. Parental divorce cause stress and depressions on children, which lower their alertness, concentration, and attention needed in class as well as it lowers the mental development affecting its mental ability of processing selecting and registry information.
