The knowledge of culture may influence the expression of symptoms, and this is a vital thing in understanding the psychological trauma that a patient is undergoing (Schwab, 2013). Therefore, this essay explores the current case that shows how cultural, as well as social factors, influence mental illness. Social factors are crucial aspects that can positively or negatively influence disease in a patient. Social factors can be said to be an essential determinant that influences health status at all levels in a person’s life (Schwab, 2013). For instance, poverty can be said to influence a person’s health in different levels be it in organizations, families or even in the neighborhood. Moreover, during the developmental phase of a disorder, social factors may determine the speed of the progression of a disease, or it may also determine the pace of recovery depending with the availability of support systems or treatment services.

For example, social factors like occupation may mean prestige for some patience as such the cost of treatment to such individuals is not a problem thus they will have to seek for the best treatment to facilitate fast recovery. In developing countries like Africa, mental illness has many different causes. However, one of the leading causes is explained of mystical religious perspective. Several social, as well as cultural factors, can affect the start and the course as well as the consequence of a mental disorder. While at the clinic it was found that she had a frantic disorder and a depressive syndrome. Miss charger was a mother of one child. She was living a free woman since 2011. Her mental illness begun when she was seven months pregnant.
